Sometimes I sit in my
living room and look at these outside my window and think "Could any plant be
more beautiful?" I know it sounds corny, but I'm an artist and color is my
joy. They are spectacular! The Aechmea Blanchetiana isn't rare, but the
fact that it looks this good and can take all the direct sun you can throw at it
makes it really desirable. They go through lots of color changes during the
maturing process, but when you stress them with little moisture and bright sun,
they reward you with the brilliant orange and eventually a vibrant
raspberry-orange color. The branched flower spike rises tall above the
large bromeliad and is fire red. The color is so bold that it can be seen from
down the street and creates real curb appeal. The fifth picture was taken at a
house that I came across recently in Ft. Lauderdale that had them surrounded
with blue green succulents. What a color combination! I'm a nut for landscaping
lights. We have a red one on our Blanchetianas and they look on fire! Just about
any bromeliad can be grown in the crotch of a tree if there's room. These
Blanch's in the fifth picture climb right up the tree and look fantastic from
across the street. Rich and I are the "Plant Papparazzi" in town and get
pictures everytime we can. The applications are endless! Look at the seventh
picture, taken at a high-end office building on Key Biscayne. Let's see you guys
get up that tree! I just can't say enough about this bromeliad. This
sale is for a full grown plant that is golden in color.
