Aechmea Loie's Pride             BackHomeNext

The Aechmea Loie's Pride is an exceptional, patented plant.   It grows to 48" high and has 4" wide blueish-green  leaves with a silver tint. One of the distinguishing features of this plant is the subtle creamy yellow stripes running up the inside of the leaves. The overall shape is a nice flair from the base. The result is a sophisticated look. There are two of them flanking the inside entrance to the conservatory at Fairchild's Tropical Gardens here in So. Florida. It can be the centerpiece of your interiorscape or landscape as well.  The bloom is a strong flower spike in size and color and contrasts the silvery foliage. It is a bright salmon color with orange and yellow flowers. The sale plants are averaging approx. 30" across and should get at least 1 1/2 ft. wider.  They are similar to the last picture.
