The Elaine is one of my favorite Cryptanthus. The color is spectacular and can range from a bright light pink to a deep rich pink, depending on how much light it gets. But what I love the most is the design that the shades of black, chocolate brown, and white make on the pink! It's very intricate and detailed. Don't limit yourself with potting. Think outside the pot! They are great for
mounting. They are terrestrial so when you mount it, have the roots in a pouch of medium. We wrap our planting medium in screening, plant the crypt. in it, then secure the pouch to the mount with florist wire. We've had them live and pup like crazy for years that way. They prefer to be on the moist side and look wonderful potted also. They prefer bright indirect
light. The plants range from 15" to 30". The planter is also
available.
